Privacy Policy

Last updated 24 October 2026.

We collect as little as possible. There are no accounts, and we don’t ask for your email, real name or location. This policy explains what we do use. Joe Murfin is the data controller for InternetArcade.tv.

What we use and why

  • Your player name. The name you choose when you join the queue. It’s shown publicly on the site and on our YouTube stream, and may appear in game history. We use it to run the queue and show who’s playing.
  • A random session ID. Stored in your browser’s local storage (not a cookie) so you keep your place in the queue if you refresh. It isn’t linked to who you are, and you can clear it any time by clearing site data.
  • Your gameplay. The buttons you press and what happens in the game during your turn. This is public, as described in our terms.
  • Technical data. Like every website, our servers receive your IP address and basic browser information when you connect. We use it briefly to deliver the site, prevent abuse (such as rate limiting and blocking people who break the rules) and keep things secure.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a fair, safe, public game, and, for the public broadcast of your gameplay, the fact that you choose to take a turn.

Cookies

We don’t use cookies for tracking or advertising. If we embed our YouTube stream on the site, YouTube may set its own cookies when you play it; see Google’s privacy policy. If we add analytics later, we’ll update this page first.

Who sees it

Player names and gameplay are public by design. Otherwise we don’t sell or share your information. Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf to run the site, and YouTube hosts the broadcast.

How long we keep it

  • Session IDs and queue data: while you’re using the site, and cleared from the server shortly after you leave.
  • Server logs: kept for a short period (normally no more than 30 days) unless needed to investigate abuse.
  • Game history and stream recordings: kept as part of the public adventure.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete personal information about you, or object to how we use it. Because we don’t identify players, please include your player name and roughly when you played. Email joemurfin@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

The site isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. Please don’t use personal details as a player name.

Changes

We’ll update this page if anything changes, and change the date at the top.
